FINAL BLOG POST MAY 13, 2011

This is finally the last week of school. YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! This week was so crazy but so successful for me. I did my presentation on Monday of what makes the perfect spy. I think that was very well done. I feel proud of my work. For Wills class we took our group test. I feel like I did well on that. For Krista's class I had to present what I made (compost bin). That went OK, but I think I passed. Finally glad I'm done with highschool. :D

This week was a very busy week in school. Probably one of the most busiest since the end of last semester. For math class I'm getting ready for my math final. I feel very confident with the content. I know that I will pass his final. For English I had to make some adjustments with my project page. It did not look well organized. So it took me about this whole week make it more prettier and more organized. I have been practicing my presentation for this Monday for Steph's class. I'm going to present on what the perfect spy novel is and what makes the perfect spy. I feel ready for my presentation and I'm so stoked to wear my rockin suit. Ready to impress some chicks. LOL. For Krista's class Marco, Sebet, and I have made our compost bin. I feel like I have accomplished so much this week. :D

This was a very busy week in school. In math class I'm working with a group for our final test of the year. My partners are Alex Contreras and Andrew Chung. I think those to guys are strong in math and we are about at the same level. I think are test is in 2 weeks. I'm not sure. I feel very confident and happy with my group members. I think we'll do OK on it. For English class we are working on our project pages for our presentations that will be in a week and a half. I feel prepared but quite stressed about it. Presenting and public speaking is my worst fear. I hope to get over that and pass. I'm exactly 92% done with my last book. My book is so good!!!!! For Krista's class we did our world wide nation/corporation debate about how to reduce global warming affects. We had to debate and make a plan. It was hard but we did well. Now we are working on making an item that is Earth friendly and that can be reused. I'm making my own compost bin out of wood. That is what my week was like. :D

This week in school has been very busy for me. In math class I am preparing to take a placement test to see where I stand in college math. I am studying the content I need to know not to be in a lower level math class. I feel like I'm going to do well on the test and Will, my math teacher feels good about my math skills. In English class we are working on our last project of the year. We are working on our inquiry projects. I am doing ok on it. I could use a little help on it. Taryn, the English tutor at school decided to help me a little. If she guides me through ok, I should do ok. I'm nervous to present my material in front of the class. I tend to get embarrassed and laugh a lot. LOL! In Ecology class we are working on our county climate change project. My group is learning about climate change in Uganda Africa. It's going very well. We are now finding info about how Global Warming is effecting the country and addressing the issue in a mock UN meeting. That should be interesting. I have a very busy weekend on catching up on school work. That's about it.

My spring break was so fun. I'm finally back at school. For math class we are doing are quiz corrections so we can get a better grade if we did not do well. I got a C on my quiz. I wish I could of done better but I'm ok with a C. I'm doing my quiz corrections. For English class we got in our groups to do are 12th Night Project. We did not finish it because our group had a hard time in the tech department. We failed, but failure is not really failure, its a lesson learned. For Krista's class we are doing a project where the whole class will debate about Global Climate Issues. My group partners are Hector Mancilla and Michael Cullen and we where picked to study a county's climate and environmental issues. Uganda was the country we were given. This project will be about 2 weeks long and then we will debate in the UN Room about the concerns of Global Climate. This was a busy week. Could of wished that we had more support from people for our project for Stephanie's. But hey what ever, life goes on. A year from now I'll forget. Overall good week. :D

This week was a busy week. For English class our whole class worked on our 12th Night project and preparing for our Inquiry Essay for Wednesday. I think I did very well on my essay. For math class we studied this whole week for our mid-term that we had on Wednesday. Our mid-term was so (brutal!). I think I did ok on it. In Krista's class we are taking about the effects of Global Warming and the effects that it has on us as a Global Society. That what are week was like. Next, COSTA RICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week was a very crazy week in school.In math class we are studying for our mid-term for next Wednesday. I have been studying so hard but so stressed about it. In Multi-Media class our group is working on our video for our food project. Are video is about done. In English class we finished the play 12th Night. It was good but the end was a little different than I expected. I also got my Inquiry Essay all ready done so I don't have to worry about it on the same day as my math mid-term. For Krista our whole class got prepared for the Iron Chef project that is today. My partner Michael Cullen and I made a very lovely salad. I had a very good weekend. :D

This weekend has been so crazy for me. I have been like the energizer bunny trying to get everything done. This was a very successful week.

In English class, students read Act 2 Scene's 1-5 from 12th Night. We acted and read the scenes our in class so we can get a better understating of what is going on. In math class all senior students are getting ready for our next math mid-term which is on March 16th. In ecology, yesterday, we took the Unit 2 quiz on food waste and justice. It was a very hard test. I think I did well because I studied. I hope I get a good grade on it. Also in that class Michael and I are working on your Iron Chef Project. I'm pretty stocked about that because at the end of the project we get to eat some AWESOME FOOD!!!! I love food so much. This week was crazy but a very good successful week. THREE DAY WEEKEND HERE I COME!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

This week I was very busy in school. For math Will signed me up for Alek's (Math Program). He signed me up for this because he wanted me to become more proficient in geometry. Also are class is staring to get ready for our mid-term on March 17. The mid-term is going to cover Algebra, Basic Derivates, Integrals, and U-Substitution. I feel very ready for my mid-term.

In English class this week we finished reading all of Act 1 from the play 12th Night by Shakespeare. Class mates acted out scenes from the play so we can get a better understanding of what is going on. I found acting out the scenes very helpful for me because I was able to get a better understanding of whats going on. I had a very good time acting out the scenes.

In Krista's class we worked on our thesis paper. I'm doing mine on food waste. My thesis is why is food wast such a big problem in the US and what are the consequences from it. From doing research on it I have a different view of food waste. I have been saving more of my food and frigerating it. Writing this paper has really changed me differently for the good. Our final paper is due March 1.

Finally I was at school for this whole week. Sick free. YAY! This week in English class we did our Inquiry Essay on our topic. When I was writing out my essay, I was feeling good about it because I had so many examples from my book to help me answer my essential question. I feel very good about my first essay and my book did a good job answering my guiding question.

After our Inquiry Essay, our class is studying and analyzing the play the "12th Night" by William Shakespeare. I'm pretty stoked about this project and study because I have a very good understating of Shakespeare's writing style and story lines. I'm happy to read another play by him.

I have finally started reading my second book for my Inquiry Project. I am reading "Net Force #1", by Tom Clancy. This book is about cyber-terrorists who are trying to cause a war on a computer. I have not gotten to that part yet but there very close. I'm very excited to read this book. I'm all ready on page 120. This book has 372 pages total. I feel confident that I will get this book done in no time. That was my whole week.

I have been very sick this week so I really don't know what we covered in English class this week. But I have gotten lots of work done this week and hope to get more done this weekend and have some fun too. I'm doing ok on reading my book. My book is very good. :D

This week in English our whole class worked on our book project. I have found a couple of people that I would like to interview about my topic. I'm planning to interview my cousin Dan who was a Seal Team 8 member. I think he will probably be a very good help for answering my essential question. I'm also planning to interview my aunt who is a college professor. I think I'm making good progress in class. :D

This week in English class we really did not cover any new content. We basically worked on our Inquiry Project Proposal this whole week so it can be pretty perfect. We also did our Beowulf quiz corrections. I really did not do very well on the quiz, but hope the corrections makes my grade better. In class Stephanie helped us make a Diigo account so we can bookmark things for our Inquiry Project. So far I still need to interview some people to answer my essential question for my project. I'm probably going to interview my aunt who is a college professor and maybe the writers who wrote the books I'm reading. I really hope to get some good answers. I'm pretty excited to see my end results of my project. :D

This was a very busy week for me. Thank god for the weekend. In English we finally read the whole story of Beowulf and took a quiz on it. Also I finished writing my essay on, if we should preserve languages. That essay was also part of my quiz. The quiz was quite challenging but I think I did average.

For my inquiry project I have selected my three books that I will be reading. My first book is called Extreme Measures by Vince Flynn, second Net Force #1 by Tom Clancy, and Ark Angel by Anthony Horowitz. Extreme Measures is a very good book. It really captured me in the first chapter. The book is about counter terrorism. A group of special opp's have to go find them.  My essential question that I will be answering is, what makes the perfect spy? I really am excited to learn and read books about spy's and their epic adventures to find the enemy.

This week in English class we read the whole story of Beowulf. Stephanie wanted us to get an understanding of what an epic-hero is. After reading Beowulf I had a very good definition of an epic-hero. An epic-hero is someone who is loyal, caring to their people, respectful, strong, and wise. I thought Beowulf was a very interesting story. The story kind of reminded me of Shrek in a way. :D. From this reading I actually have a very good understanding of what an epic-hero is.

For my inquiry project I will be analyzing spy/adventure books. I picked this genre so I can understand why people enjoy it. I really don't have a good idea why people like it. Over the semester I hope to get a better understanding why people like spy/adventure and also have a good time reading my books. I think I will find my answers soon.

Begining of 2nd Semester

This week was our first week back to school from winter break. We have started the second semester. This weekend our class discussed how people you different types of speaking. The different ways people speak are formal, slang, and broke. Our teacher gave us articles about how different languages are going to become or all ready are extinct. When I read those articles, I was very fascinated and engaged to the reading. One thing that was interesting was the city of New York has about 800 different languages spoken. I was like OMG (Oh My God!). OMG is a great example of internet talk. Other examples are like LOL, TTLY, TMI, GTG, WTF, etc...... That is what we covered this week in class. :D
